Membership Dues and Title 1

In June 2019, SCPTSA general membership approved waiving SCPTSA membership fees for Title I school PTA members in support of equity. Fees for non-Title I school members were raised accordingly from $2 to $3.50 per individual to help offset this waiver, as described here, and in the SCPTSA Standing Rules:

Article IV – Membership and Service Fees Schools that are Title I School Wide or that Receive Title I Targeted Assistance for the current school year or two years prior shall be granted membership in SCPTSA free of per member service fees. Each member local non-Title I School Wide or Targeted PTA/PTSA will pay a SCPTSA membership service fee of $3.50 per member. 

Please make the necessary adjustments to your PTA/PTSA's standing rules and membership form in order to reflect the appropriate total membership fee you will be charging / collecting (i.e. the national, state, and SCPTSA fees described below of either $8 or $11.50 plus the fee your PTA/PTSA charges its members). 

Non-Title 1 Fee Schedule:

$5.75 Washington State PTA 

$2.25 National PTA

$11.50 Total per member

Title 1 Fee Schedule:

$0 SCPTSA

$5.75 Washington State PTA 

$2.25 National PTA

$8 Total per member

If your PTA/PTSA is at a Title I school and inadvertently paid our SCPTSA fee, we will refund these monies to you. WSPTA and SCPTSA continue to work through issues with the new membership platform, MemberPlanet. Once these technical issues have been resolved, and SCPTSA has been able to reconcile payments and membership lists from Title I schools, we will issue refunds on a periodic basis (most likely quarterly).
